MLK Day of Service: Coming Together to Support the Share Food Program
In honor of MLK Day, our team had the privilege of spending the day volunteering with the Share Food Program, an organization whose mission to fight hunger and support vulnerable communities has a profound impact across the region.
We began the morning by learning about Share’s history, their distribution network, and the critical role they play in ensuring that local seniors have consistent access to nutritious food. Hearing directly from their team set the tone for the day and helped us understand how our efforts fit into a much larger system of support.
After the orientation, our group was divided into roles along an assembly line designed to efficiently build food boxes for seniors experiencing food insecurity. Each station focused on a different pantry staple like canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, juice, grains, and other essentials that form the foundation of reliable, shelf‑stable meals.
With everyone working in sync, the line moved quickly and purposefully, and by the end of the session we had assembled 480 boxes of food ready for delivery.
One of the most meaningful parts of the experience was seeing employees from different offices and regions come together. Colleagues who don’t often cross paths found themselves side by side, packing boxes, sharing stories, and collaborating in a hands‑on way that strengthened our sense of connection.
We’re grateful to the Share Food Program for hosting us and for the essential work they do every day. We’re proud of our team for embracing the spirit of MLK Day with purpose, teamwork, and heart.
