Celebrating National Intern Day at UCH
Happy National Intern Day!
At University City Housing Company, we believe the future of our organization begins with the individuals who are learning, growing, and taking their first steps into their careers today. In recognition of National Intern Day, our summer interns participated in a thoughtfully designed professional development experience that showcased many aspects of life at UCH.
The morning began with a guided tour of Rosemont Plaza Apartments, where interns gained valuable insight into daily property operations and the essential work that supports our communities. This hands on exposure helps future property management and maintenance professionals better understand the impact of their responsibilities and the importance of exceptional service.
Following the tour, interns participated in a recruiting workshop focused on interview etiquette, career readiness, and practical guidance for navigating the early stages of a professional career. The session provided valuable tools they can carry with them throughout their professional journeys.
Next, each intern received an individual professional headshot taken by our Graphic Designer and Photographer, Jasmine. The headshots provide a polished and professional resource that interns can use as they continue to build their personal brands and professional networks.
The day continued with some friendly competition through a UCH themed scavenger hunt designed to promote teamwork, communication, and problem solving. It was exciting to watch our interns collaborate, think creatively, and embrace new challenges while building stronger connections with one another.
We concluded the event with a roundtable luncheon featuring Alex Cranmer, Property Performance & Operations Director; Chuck Tralies, Main Line Regional Maintenance Manager; John Antoni, Recruiting Coordinator; and Anthony Polo, Property Manager. Each shared insights from their own career paths, including their experiences as former UCH interns. Their stories provided valuable perspective on professional growth, career development, and the opportunities that can emerge from an internship experience.
National Intern Day is more than just a celebration. It is an investment in the future. Our interns bring fresh perspectives, curiosity, ambition, and innovative ideas to UCH, and their enthusiasm inspires us every day. They represent the next generation of leaders, problem solvers, and industry professionals, and we are proud to support their growth and development.
Thank you to our interns for your hard work and contributions this summer. We also extend our sincere appreciation to our Recruiting and Human Resources teams for their dedication in planning and coordinating this special event.
