Celebrating 50 incredible years of service from Wayne Reed

Today, we proudly celebrate a remarkable milestone — 50 years of outstanding service, leadership, and heart from someone who has truly helped shape the foundation of our Campus Division: Wayne Reed, Senior Maintenance Mechanic.

For five decades, Wayne has been the go-to problem solver, caretaker, and behind-the-scenes hero across more than 80 buildings at our Campus location. His deep knowledge, calm under pressure, and unwavering dedication have made him an essential part of our operations.

Since joining UCH in 1975, Wayne has approached every repair, inspection, and emergency call with the same commitment to excellence. Whether it's a complex system malfunction or a minor fix, he brings not only technical skill but also a human touch — always ensuring residents feel heard, respected, and cared for.

In an era where long-term careers have become increasingly rare, 50 years of service is an extraordinary achievement. But what makes this milestone even more special is the impact Wayne has had beyond the job description — on co-workers, on residents, and on the very culture of UCH.

To Wayne: Thank you for your decades of unwavering service, for the thousands of problems solved, and for the countless moments where you helped someone feel truly at home.

Here’s to 50 incredible years — and to the difference one person can make!
